Early medieval art, particularly Insular art; the structure of interlace, particularly zoomorphic interlace, in the art of the early med. period.

In recent years I have given a number of talks at art history/archaeology seminars for which there are no published proceedings. One of the talks was at the inaugural History of Mathematics conference in Maynooth in 2011. I spoke on the role played by mathematicians during the last century-and-a-half in the history of Insular art (see abstract)
