Faculty Of Medieval And Modern Languages, In Association With St Peter’s College And St Catherine’s

Grade 10a: Salary £40,334 – £54,207 p.a.

The University in association with St Peter’s College and St Catherine’s College, proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Brazilian Literature and Culture in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages from 1 January 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at St Peter’s College and a Lecturership at St Catherine’s College.

The successful candidate should have a research record of international standing appropriate to the stage of the candidate’s career with evidence of or, exceptionally, evidence of potential for producing, distinguished research in the field of Brazilian literature and culture. Early career applicants should show outstanding research potential.

Candidates should be able to contribute to the teaching of Portuguese language and Brazilian literature and culture at all levels of the undergraduate degree, and to participate in graduate courses and supervision.

Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese and must be sufficiently proficient in English to carry out teaching, writing and administration in that language.
