The Department of English Studies in collaboration with the Centre for Medical Humanities seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Reader in Medical Humanities. The Senior Lecturer / Reader will undertake high-quality research and will play a central role in the collaborative research projects of the Centre for Medical Humanities, a unique research centre funded by The Wellcome Trust. There will be an opportunity to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

The successful candidate will be based for the first four years in the Centre for Medical Humanities, working on an established collaborative research programme concerning the role of medical knowledge in human flourishing. Thereafter, the successful candidate will have a non fixed-term position with the normal balance of research, teaching and administration in the Department of English Studies.
