CFP: ‘Preaching, Teaching, Manipulating’: Authors and Authority in Medieval and Early Modern Literature, University of Reading

Call for papers, Post-Graduate conference. 10th June 2010.

 A one-day workshop to be held at the University of Reading, School of Modern Languages and European Studies.

 “Preaching, Teaching, Manipulating”: Authors and Authority in Medieval and Early Modern Literature.

 Contributions are invited from postgraduate and postdoctoral students on any of the following topics:

 The narrator

Sermons

Dialogues between learned and unlearned texts

Translations

Translatio studii

Debates

Rhetoric

Poetics

 All papers should last 20 minutes. A selection of these papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of Reading Medieval Studies.
