Job overview:
A Research Associate is required to work on the major AHRC-funded project, Family Names of the United Kingdom (FaNUK), which has been running since 1 April 2010. Applications are invited for this position to contribute to the study of the origins, history and geographical distribution of those surnames of the United Kingdom formed in Anglo-Norman French, Middle English and Early Modern English, and to contribute substantially to the creation of the database.
Key selection criteria:
Proven research skills in Middle and Early Modern English and Medieval Latin, preferably also Anglo-Norman French, and/or in relevant aspects of English social history. Historians should be prepared to focus on linguistic/philological questions.
Demonstrable computer literacy; experience of working online and database editing.
Salary band: £26,779 – £30,122
