FORUM FOR MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE STUDIES IN IRELAND
FORUM UM LÉANN NA MEÁN-AOISE AGUS AN RENAISSANCE IN ÉIRINN
This part of the Forum is for sites providing useful information, often acting as metasite repositories for contacts to external information (for example Labyrinth, ORB, and Globe-Gate). Major national and international conferences (for example Leeds, Kalamazoo, and the Society for Renaissance Studies). Online, electronic research projects in the digital humanities. Bibliographies.
Links are mainly to FREE resources – that is, not requiring subscriptions, purchases, or other handover of money for access – so also not including resources which individuals may access for free at their home institutions, but only because said institution has paid for it… Non-free resources will also be appearing here on the RESOURCES network – but differentiated from the free ones by having a [€] before the name.
Please do contact us if you would like your website to be included, if it fits with the general criteria above. It should be emphasized that this part of the FMRSI is not a venue for the simple free advertising of individuals or institutions via their websites: rather, this part of the Forum is concerned with the collection and communication of informative content.
[NB: Juliet O'Brien is maintaining a "mirror version" of the FMRSI 's online resources over at Meta meta medieval; you are most welcome to peruse, use, and indeed copy and paste whatever is useful there. After the spring of 2009, only the Meta meta medieval version will be maintained by her. ]
All of the Forum’s links, in simple alphabetical order. With the added complication of multiple listing and the inclusion of larger categories (ex. IRISH). Aiming at maximum possible cross-referencing (on which, this will be a work in progress for some time).
II: LINKS ROUGHLY CATEGORISED: IRELAND
This is more or less the old-style FMRSI “blogroll”, that used to continue for miles and miles down the page… NB these links will (with the odd exception that’s crept in) not be cross-referenced; please consult ALL LINKS for that sort of thing. MEDIEVAL & RENAISSANCE RESOURCES (WORLDWIDE) has been expanded with the intention of being nearly as good a one-stop-shop as I: ALL LINKS (ALPHABETICAL LIST). We have tried to move from the general to the particular (IRELAND), and then from the very particular (HYPERPROJECTS) back out to the general (all RESOURCES).
IRELAND: GENERAL RESOURCES = mainly state and European-level bodies, libraries, archives, heritage, and public records offices
IRELAND: GUILDS & CONFRATERNITIES = unions, union congresses, professional organizations and bodies, and research councils
IRELAND: MEDIEVAL & RENAISSANCE RESOURCES = All aspects of Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Ireland: institutes and centres, research projects, scholarly societies, organizations, sites, metasites, and including links/resources pages for postgraduate programme websites
III: LINKS CATEGORISED: WORLDWIDE
General-purpose links, and links to Medieval and Renaissance resources worldwide – including primary sources (mainly texts), hyperprojects, metasites, and blogs: These may at some point be updated or replaced subsequently here on the FMRSI; in the meantime, please see Meta meta medieval.
