This scheme is delivered by the British Academy and the Royal Society and has been established to select the very best early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world, and enable them to work at UK research institutions for a period of two years. Applications are welcomed in all disciplines covered by the two academies (physical, natural and social sciences, and the humanities) and approximately 40 Fellowships are available in 2012.
- Applications from individuals who have not studied or worked in the UK previously are encouraged as the scheme aims to establish new links between the applicant and the UK
- Applicants should be working outside the UK and should not hold UK citizenship at the time of application
- Applicants should have completed a PhD and have held no more than two postdoctoral positions or equivalent experience at a comparable level
