Late Medieval Religiosity in England: The Evidence of the Late Fourteenth and Fifteenth Century Devotional Compilations,
University of Lausanne.

A Swiss National Foundation for Research Project (2013–2016) directed by Professor Denis Renevey Professor Denis Renevey, director of the three-year project ‘Late Medieval Religiosity in England : The Evidence of the Late Fourteenth and Fifteenth Century Devotional Compilations’, subsidised by the Swiss National Foundation for Research (SNFR), invites applications for the following two positions at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Starting date: 01.09.2013 or 01.10.2013
Length of contract: One year, renewable twice (total three years)
Rate: 100%
Place of work: University of Lausanne, English department, 1015 Lausanne – Dorigny, Switzerland
Gross yearly salary c. SFr- 80’000.- Profile:
The successful candidate must have:

  • doctorate in medieval English literature
  • excellent research profile or interest in medieval English religious literature
  • experience in administration, conference organisation, web page design
  • ability to contribute to a growing and stimulating group of medievalists in the English department

Description of the work:
The appointed post-doctoral researcher will contribute to the team’s work by designing and contributing to an on-line catalogue of devotional compilations, preparing and editing a web page which will used to offer information to academics and the larger public about recent findings. The chosen candidate will be responsible for most of the manuscript investigations. He/she will take responsibility for the organisation of an international conference on devotional compilations and the co-editing of a volume consisting of the best papers given at the conference. The candidate will publish a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles or a book on devotional compilations.
