Milestones of Medieval Dublin 2013,
The Friends of Medieval Dublin & Dublin City Council.
The Friends of Medieval Dublin and Dublin City Council are pleased to announce the launch of MILESTONES OF MEDIEVAL DUBLIN 2013, an annual lunchtime lecture series exploring seven events that impacted significantly on Medieval Dublin.
The first talk will be presented by one of Ireland’s most prominent archaeologists, Linzi Simpson, and she will be discussing what were probably the first Vikings to arrive in Dublin in the ninth century.
Each of the six subsequent lectures will run on a Tuesday mid-month from July to December in the Wood Quay Venue of Dublin City Council, against the unique backdrop of a stretch of the original Hiberno-Norse wall dating from the 12th century.
Please see poster for further details on all talks in this series.
Admission is free and no pre-registration is required.
