W1/W3-Professur (assistant professor) of Old and Middle English Literature (tenure track),
University of Dusseldorf.
UD are looking for applicants with proven research and teaching capabilities in both Old and Middle English Literature. Additional requirements include a good knowledge of Old and Middle English and the willingness to teach in the field of historical linguistics. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to theoretical and methodological inquiry within the Faculty of the Humanities.
Further qualifications include outstanding pedagogical skills and the readiness to engage in interdisciplinary research and academic administration, especially in the Research Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (FIMUR). The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching at both BA and the MA levels as well as willingness to pursue third party (external) research funding opportunities aggressively. International experience in both research and teaching is advantageous.
Employment prerequisites include (in addition to the regulations of § 36 of the University Governance Laws of North Rhine-Westphalia [Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen]) the proven ability to initiate and implement research as well as additional achievements.
