Employment: Research Assistant, “The Figure of the Witch Project”, University of Bristol

The University of Bristol wishes to appoint a Research Assistant for a period of three years from 1 February 2014, to work upon Professor Ronald Hutton’s research project, “The Figure of the Witch”, funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The project is designed to further understanding of the early modern European witch trials and beliefs by investigating more thoroughly their ancient and medieval roots. Timescale of appointment: Shortlisted candidates will be notified on or around Friday, 15 November 2013 and invited to interview. They may be required to submit a sample of their work (in English, 5–8,000 words).
