Becoming and belonging in Ireland 1200-1600,
Queen’s University, Belfast,
11th – 13th October 2013.

Becoming and belonging in Ireland 1200-1600 is a cross-disciplinary conference about identity and cultural practice in late-medieval and early modern Ireland.

The conference will provide a space for archaeologists and historians to consider how peoples on the island of Ireland constructed and transformed self and group identities in this key period, and how their senses of belonging were made manifest through their cultural practices.

The conference is hosted by the discipline of Archaeology, at the School of Geography and Archaeology NUI, Galway & the School of Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology, Queen’s University, Belfast. It will be held at the Clinton Centre, Enniskillen.

The conference is organised by Prof. Audrey Horning QUB and Prof. Elizabeth FitzPatrick, NUIG.
