New voices in Irish Medieval Studies: Interdisciplinary Perspectives
Organised by the Forum for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Ireland (FMRSI)
FMRSI are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a panel session at the Irish Conference of Medievalists.
This session will explore new or less established areas of interdisciplinary research on medieval Ireland. While Irish Medieval Studies tends to focus on more populated disciplines such as linguistics, archaeology, history, literature, art history, research in less explored fields such as music, liturgy, science, women’s studies, mentalité, is now also coming to the fore. Papers are invited which might address any of these (or other) ‘minority’ topics, or which engage in comparative studies of a sociological and socio-historical nature, or explore issues from different theoretical and methodological perspectives.
The session will consist of three papers of 20 minutes duration with added time for questions. Please send abstract (of no more than 150 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org before 10th April 2014.
