Newnham College, Cambridge invites applications from women graduates of any university for two stipendiary or non-stipendiary Research Fellowships in subjects falling within the general field of the Humanities and Social Sciences, tenable for three years from 1 October 2015.
One Fellowship is entirely open as to field within the Humanities and Social Sciences. For the other, applications are sought from graduates working in a field covered by one of the following Faculties of Cambridge University: Classics, Human, Social & Political Sciences (HSPS) (including Archaeology & Anthropology, Politics and International Studies, Social Sciences), Modern and Medieval Languages (including Theoretical and Applied Linguistics), Philosophy, Geography, History & Philosophy of Science. Further information about these Faculties may be obtained from the University of Cambridge’s Website: www.cam.ac.uk. Newnham research students in the whole field of the Humanities and Social Sciences are eligible for both Research Fellowships, regardless of the rotational listing.
There is no age limit but the research fellowship will normally be awarded to candidates who have recently completed their PhD or are close to completion. The closing date for applications is Friday 31 October 2014. Selected candidates will be invited by Friday 12 December 2014 to submit on-line, by Friday 19 December 2014, a dissertation or other written work. The College expects to reach a decision by Friday 20 February 2015.
