The Department of English Language and Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, invites applications for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor.
Minimum requirements are a Ph. D. in English Literature, a good teaching record, and a clearly defined research agenda. Candidates who can offer specialized teaching but also teaching across the curriculum are particularly encouraged to apply. (Exceptional candidates who are close to completion of their Ph.D. may also be considered at Instructor level.) The starting date for this post is 1 February 2015.
The English Language and Literature Department currently consists of six full-time faculty members, teaching an undergraduate programme that covers British, Irish and postcolonial literature, and ranges from the Anglo-Saxons to the present day. We have particular research and teaching strengths in Victorian Literature, postcolonial literature and theory, and the Renaissance. We would welcome applications from scholars who can either complement or add to our existing research and teaching strengths.
